When you are packing up for your next hunting trip or other outdoor adventure, be sure to include your huntingknife. The hunting knife will be one of your most valuable and most used tool. I always carry two or even three types of hunting knives whenever I venture outdoors for hunting, fishing or camping. I include a fixed blade knife, a folding blade, and a pocket knife. Each type has its own place and works best in certain conditions.
The fixed blade is all one piece, usually with a hardwood handle and a sheath. This is more rugged than the other types and is easy to clean. However, fixed blade hunting knives are generally heavier and a bit more bulky than the others but are one of the most popular. The folding blade hunting knife is smaller than the fixed blade, and it is strong and durable. Most folders have a locking blade and are safe to carry, and they also come with a sheath. The pocket knife is similar to the folder except it is smaller and has no sheath. This is a good all purpose knife, a popular favorite, and one that will see a lot of use.
